The 2024 spring planting season – as the program is officially called – calls for 260 larger urban trees and 220 smaller trees to be planted in the city area. These are replanting as well as new locations that are to be greened through the “tree offensive”.
Trees were planted for two tree sponsorships in the Makartviertel on Monday. Silke Dörner and Olivia Schütz from Theater Phönix are sponsoring a robinia tree on Wiener Straße. Gert Scherhammer takes over the sponsorship of a hornbeam near Lenaustraße.
By the way, it has been possible to sponsor a tree in Linz for six months now. For City Councilor Eva Schobesberger (Greens), every sponsor actively contributes to the quality of life in the densely built-up urban area.
