The man of special missions of Maximos declared from Crete that “there is absolutely no exchange, there is no bargaining” with the former vice-president of the Supreme Court
It seems that the government has imposed silence on MPs, ministers and nearby media regarding the “bombshells” of the former vice president of the Supreme Court Christos Tzanerikos. After the spasmodic leaks, the man of the special missions Giorgos Gerapetritis took it upon himself yesterday to… clean up the landscape, exposing the resigned supreme judge as a liar in statements he made from Heraklion, Crete.
“There is absolutely no exchange, there is no haggling” he characteristically said and added that “of course I had extensive consultation with the leadership of the Supreme Court, and with the president and the vice-president, Mr. Tzanerikos, in the context of the provisions and in all , as regards procedural issues. However, there was absolutely no discussion regarding what is mentioned.”
He added that it is important for the country “to be able to continue its democratic path and formations which are anti-democratic, fascist, should stay out of the political scene, and this should be the pursuit of all of us”. The question, however, that arises is the following: why did Mr. Gerapetritis have to meet Mr. Janerico? With what authority did minister Gerapetritis meet for procedural issues and not even the responsible minister Makis Voridis?
Denial of responsibility
And while Giorgos Gerapetritis has undertaken the disclaimer project, Kyriakos Mitsotakis is keeping a fishy silence, refusing to give answers on such a critical issue that involves him personally, as revealed by “democracy” and implied by the Mr. Janerikos. The government, following the direct shots of the supreme judge, is in a particularly difficult position and this is also proven by the daily presentation of the ND deputies, who find it difficult to support the incredible palinades of Maximos.
With the government’s back once morest the wall, Alexis Tsipras launched a new fierce attack once morest it yesterday, personally targeting Kyriakos Mitsotakis. “The head of the First Department of the Supreme Court says that Mr. Gerapetritis and another senior government official tried to bribe him. Mitsotakis must answer. Who is this senior government agent who tried to bribe a judge? Who is this;” stressed Alexis Tsipras. Regarding the recent complaints of Christos Tzanerikos, he added that “normally the prosecutor of the Supreme Court should have been charged, because here we are talking regarding a criminal act” and he left points for Mr. Dogiakos.
The complaints of Christos Tzanerikos have caused the wrath of the legal world as well. Characteristic is the intervention of the constitutional expert Xenofontas Kontiadis, who pointed out that “if the statements of the resigned vice-president of the AP are accurate, then it is not just an unconstitutional interference of the executive in the judicial function, but criminal acts, so it must be dealt with immediately the prosecutor of the Supreme Court” (articles 167A and 237 of the Criminal Code).
The concerted effort to downplay the issue by the media that supports the government, but also by the Maximos Palace that coordinates them, shows that something very dark is taking place in the last few hours. It is impressive that in yesterday’s specific revelations of “democracy” there was not a single denial by any of the protagonists of the scandal. Unfortunately, this unprecedented situation, in which the country has fallen under the responsibility of the government, risks becoming the best gift to the neo-Nazi formation.
Vague promises for investigations by the Anti-Criminal Policy Secretariat
The Anti-Criminal Policy Secretariat issued a statement yesterday which, instead of clarifying the situation, blurs it even more, 24 hours following the reports that talked regarding an online conference of Kasidiaris with members of his party from Domokos Prisons.
Regarding the specific issue, which was revealed by the newspaper “Ta Nea”, nothing is mentioned in the announcement, apart from the promise that an investigation will be conducted: “For the evaluation and examination of what is mentioned, it has been convened, following relevant orders from the General Secretariat of Anti-Criminal Policy, the competent Disciplinary Council of the Store, which will meet on April 20, 2023. A meeting that will not take place for the first time, as the Disciplinary Council of the Store has met in the past on the same issue.” From then on, the General Secretariat informs us regarding the current conditions in prisons. There is no denial of the fact, except that no mobile phone was found in his possession.
