Bahrain – Informed sources reported the opening of the “Khalifa” water distribution station in the Kingdom of Bahrain as part of a huge project that includes three water distribution stations, funded by the Saudi Fund for Development.

This project comes as part of close cooperation between the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and the Kingdom of Bahrain.

The station was inaugurated in the presence of the Deputy Prime Minister of Bahrain, Sheikh Khalid bin Abdullah Al Khalifa, and the CEO of the Saudi Fund for Development, Sultan Al-Murshid, who stressed “the importance of this project in directly meeting the needs of local citizens, as it is expected that more than 60 thousand people.”

Regarding the project’s objectives, Al-Murshid stressed that it “mainly aims to provide safe drinking water to the population in the Kingdom of Bahrain, which reflects the Saudi Fund for Development’s commitment to promoting healthy life and well-being for the community.”

He pointed out that “cooperation between the Saudi Fund for Development and the Kingdom of Bahrain extends for more than 48 years, during which programs and projects worth more than $3 billion were funded, varying between the development and educational sectors.”

The guide concluded by talking about “the Fund’s continued commitment to providing support and assistance to Bahrain in achieving the sustainable development goals.”

He stressed that “the remaining projects will be completed in the coming months, and the foundation stone will be laid for new projects in the near future.”
