Mumbai: Batting first, Mumbai lost the toss and lost four wickets once morest Chennai Super Kings in the first home match of the season. Rohit returned but with Ishan Kishan smashing the power play, Mumbai scored 61 for the loss of one wicket in the first over.
But following the power play, Ishan Kishan (32 off 21 balls) was dropped by Ravindra Jadeja. After Suryakumar (1) was returned by Santner and Green (12) Jadeja, when the information was finally received, Mumbai was 76 runs for the loss of four wickets in nine overs. Tilak Verma scored six runs and Arshad Khan scored two runs at the crease.

Mumbai scored 10 runs in the first over bowled by Deepak Chahar.
