Asuncion, IP Agency.- The National Institute of Nephrology will deliver three new dialysis machines to the department of Misiones and will extend one shift of care to reduce the waiting list of kidney patients, announced the Ministry of Public Health.
The installation of the new machines and the opening of a third shift are planned for September. Two machines will be destined for the Nephrology Center located in the San Juan Bautista Misiones Regional Hospital and the third for the Ayolas Integrated Hospital, to strengthen the adult therapy area, specifically for kidney patients.
The information was confirmed by the director of the National Institute of Nephrology, Dr. Jorge Cuéllar, during a visit to the area, accompanied by the directors of the VIII Health Region, José Mereles and the regional hospital Pablo Aveiro, as well as the municipal mayor of Misiones, José Luis Benítez.
The new machines and the additional shift will reduce waiting times for patients requiring haemodialysis, an essential treatment for those suffering from chronic kidney disease.
During their visit, INN authorities also toured the Nephrology Center to assess the current situation and identify areas requiring improvement.
