Jean-Sébastien Beaudoin, arborist by profession, is passionate regarding video games. More than 60 consoles and a few thousand games make up its collection.
This Beauceron discovered this universe at a very young age, while playing on an Atari 2600 console. A little later, he switched to the NES, a Nintendo console from the 90s which would forge his passion. It was when he bought his first PlayStation 1, with his own money, that he fell in love with Sony.
Over time, his interest in video games intensified until finally, 10 years ago, they started collecting them out of nostalgia.
« It’s really nostalgia. At some point we reach a point in our life where we think we want to play Mario and Donkey Kong games once more, so we buy a bunch of tapes. Well me, the sting stung me more than the others », told the collector, during a meeting with EnBeauce.com.
In a specific room of his house, he installed his collection in furniture that he custom-made for his elements. In addition to consoles and games, there are also many objects and accessories on different themes. It also has a large collection of board games, mostly created by designers.
Jean-Sébastien shares his passion with his spouse, with whom he enjoys spending time playing. He hopes that one day his two-year-old daughter will also become a “gamer”. It’s off to a good start when you know that at her age she already recognizes the characters from the Mario universe…
