The Sinners is the only movie that the artist Suhair Ramzy wants to forget and delete from her history, and she admitted that she regrets participating in it.
According to her statements in The Independent Arabic, she said during her interview that she hopes that the film will be deleted from her artistic history because she was deceived by director Saeed Mazrouq after he filmed a scene
While she was sleeping, she showed her naked, and she did not expect it to be filmed from an angle that showed her naked, so she appeared in the film while she was semi-naked.
In more than one television interview, actress Suhair Ramzy announced her remorse for her participation in the movie The Sinners, in which she presented one of the most daring scenes of Egyptian cinema, which prompted the censors to ban the film from showing.
The ban came after many letters received by the People’s Assembly from Egyptians in Arab countries complaining that the events of the movie The Sinners harm the reputation of Egypt and Egyptians abroad.
In addition, the film included many daring sexual scenes, and the council referred these letters to the Minister of Information and Culture to take the necessary action. The minister’s decision was to ban.
The director of censorship at the time, Etidal Mumtaz, and ten of her employees were subjected to a disciplinary trial due to the licensing of the movie “The Sinners” by a decision of President Sadat, which was shown on September 22, 2014.
1976 at the Rivoli Cinema in Cairo, then it was removed from the cinema due to the presence of disturbing scenes in it. Because of the scene and its presentation in the cinema, she refused to participate in another film directed by Saeed Mazrouq
The one who called her and asked her to be with him, but she refused in protest against what he had done during the filming of the movie “The Sinners,” which had a crowd turnout.
Because of the hot scenes in the movie, the heroine had fun with the characters who were being investigated for her murder.
The movie The Sinners was produced in 1975, the story of Mamdouh El-Leithi, and journalist writer Amr El-Leithi wrote about the film in Al-Khamis newspaper in 2018 about the film, saying:
((One of the films that left a great imprint in the history of Egyptian cinema is the movie “The Sinners”), which collected many examples of characters present in every time and place.
Censorship of artistic works in Egypt did not go through a crisis like the one it experienced in 1977 because of that movie, which my father wrote for,
May God have mercy on him, the great producer and screenwriter Mamdouh El-Leithi, the script and dialogue forty-two years ago, about the story of our teacher, the great writer Naguib Mahfouz, and directed by the great director Said Marzouk, and it is one of the 100 best Egyptian films.
The film was blatant in exposing corruption in Egyptian society, shockingly at all levels for all segments of society. The film was shown in 1976 in addition to showing it in several Arab capitals
The censorship’s permission for the film to be shown led to the punishment of all the censorship cadres responsible for this permission, so 17 censors were referred for investigation because they initially allowed the film to be shown.. It also led to the issuance of new censorship laws at the time..
Two years after the decision to stop showing the film, a technical supervisory committee was formed, headed by Saad El-Din Wahba, to approve whether or not the film was shown. The film was shown in Egyptian cinemas at the time for about three months.
Although the film was shown in the seventies of the century, the film was the most popular in the video until the beginning of the new century because of the audacity of the censor, who allowed all the hot scenes to be in the film.
