Hair caught in machinery and scalp peeled off in large pieces is a terrible accident for anyone who sees it. In July 2023, Bach Mai Hospital also received a female patient (43 years old, living in Dien Bien city, Dien Bien province) whose entire scalp was stripped when her hair was caught in a drill.

The entire skin of her forehead and scalp along with her hair were stripped off her skull and crushed in a drill. The entire scalp was broken into pieces and lumps.

But the doctors of Bach Mai Hospital, with the spirit of “if there’s still water left”, also meticulously removed every centimeter of the scalp, traced every blood vessel to graft it back to the patient.

A miracle happened when more than 6 months following receiving a scalp transplant, the patient’s hair turned green once more.
