“With Autumn leaves and companion animals…”, on the occasion of World Animal Day

With the aim of instilling the love for animals in all children, Polyhedros has organized an educational art activity on Saturday, October 5th from 10:30 to 12:30 in the morning. “With Autumn leaves and companion animals…”, we meet to play creatively, on the occasion of World Animal Day, celebrated every year on October 4.

We will explore the children’s section to discover books with animals and read stories in the company of Caramel, the bookshop cat and her mischievous son. We will print engravings and use the fallen leaves from the garden, creating original works with animals and themes from nature.
At the same time, there will be an exhibition of books on animals, their behaviors, habits and ways of communicating with them.

World Animal Day is an international day of action for animal rights and their well-being. The feast day of Francis of Assisi, who has been declared by the Catholic Church as the patron saint of animals, has been set. The first celebration took place in 1931, at an environmentalist conference in Florence to raise public awareness of endangered animals. It was then expanded to include the entire animal kingdom.
It is a global event that unites the animal protection movement and raises the awareness of all of us regarding their protection and welfare. It reminds us of the difficulties animals face, from neglect, poaching or loss of habitat. It points out to us the important role that pets or wild animals play in our lives and the eternal relationship with them. A day that is celebrated worldwide, to remind us of our obligations, so that we mobilize with actions for their good living.
