With revenues of nearly R$ 220 billion last year, according to data from ABINEE (Brazilian Electrical and Electronics Industry Association), the electronics industry is responsible for the production of a wide range of products: from notebooks to cell phones, security, fire alarms, telecommunications antennas, in addition to electric motors, transformers and generators, plugs, switches, sockets, circuit breakers, industrial sensors, actuators and industrial robots, household appliances in general, among others. In constant evolution, it is always looking for new technologies to optimize and update its production. And it is in light of this need that the 30th edition of FIEE will be held from July 18th to 21st, in São Paulo.

The fair that represents the sector will bring together more than 400 brands, which will present solutions and innovations for engineers, IT professionals and technicians from the energy, automotive, food and beverage, metallurgical, steel, agricultural, electronics, pulp and paper industries, aviation, consumer goods, construction, among others.

“Professionals in the electronics industry are eager for innovation, they always want to be up to date, and FIEE comes to show this audience the latest equipment and industry trends for all types of industries. Today, the fair covers more than just products, but mainly solutions”, highlights the manager of Technology and Industrial Policy at ABINEE, Israel Guratti.

High potential

Even with the impacts of the Covid-19 pandemic and later the war in Ukraine, the electronics industry continues to grow and as an important generator of labor. By December 2022, the sector had 268,000 registered workers, an increase of 2% compared to the same period in 2021, according to a survey by CAGED (General Register of Employed and Unemployed), of the Ministry of Labor and Employment. And the hires keep happening. This year alone, until March, over 1,500 new jobs were created.

“We emphasize that FIEE promotes an environment for discussion on technology, sustainability and innovation for the benefit of all sectors of the economy. In addition to sectors more closely linked to what consumers see in their day-to-day life, such as building automation, FIEE has partnered with ABINEE for six decades to be the biggest space for discussing electric energy technologies and solutions for industries of all sizes. And this is reflected in the theme of the AbineeTEC 2023 Forum – ‘The future of technology in industry’ and in the debate panels and exhibitions throughout the event”, reveals Guratti.

Another proof of the strength of the sector for the national economy is the result of the trade balance. Last year, exports reached US$ 6.7 billion, with emphasis on engines and generators, transformers and electrical parts and pieces for automobiles. Among the main destination countries for products manufactured by the Brazilian electronics industry are the United States, Argentina, Mexico, Chile, Paraguay, Colombia, Bolivia, Peru, Uruguay, as well as European countries, among others.

“The numbers show the potential of our industry and the relevance of FIEE in this scenario. Thus, at the fair, we will bring together the main players from national and international origins and our expectation is to receive, during the four days of its realization, more than 30 thousand visitors, buyers, coming from all over Brazil and from 82 countries”, concludes the FIEE product manager, Haline Ferreira.
