February 3 (ie December 24) falls on the weekend, many people finish work and go to the airport to return home to celebrate Tet. It is noted that Tan Son Nhat airport is crowded with passengers from early morning until late at night.

In particular, the station area is crowded with passengers. In front of airline check-in counters, many passengers stand in line. Guests returning home to celebrate Tet should bring a lot of luggage and many families with small children.

Meanwhile, the queuing area for security screening is the busiest. A line of people lined up waiting for their turn. Screening gates are opened to the maximum, serving the Tet peak.

Ms. Quynh Trang (worker, Thu Duc City) said that December 23 was the last working day of the year, so on the morning of December 24, she was present at Tan Son Nhat airport to fly at 2:30 a.m. to Hanoi. . However, due to bad weather conditions, the flight was delayed until the morning of the same day.

Bad weather occurred right during the Tet peak, when the number of visitors to Tan Son Nhat increased, increasing infrastructure pressure on this airport. Security forces and airline staff also regulate vehicles and guide passengers, contributing to reducing congestion pressure.

Tan Son Nhat International Airport said it plans to operate 901 flights. Of which, 456 departure flights (including 311 domestic flights, 145 international flights), 455 arrival flights (including 305 domestic flights and 140 international flights).

The number of visitors is expected to reach nearly 130,000 people today. Of which, 86,657 departing guests (including 62,037 domestic guests, 24,620 international guests), 42,685 arriving guests (including 20,360 domestic guests and 22,352 international guests).

Previously, information regarding the plan to serve the Tet peak, Mr. Nguyen Van Son – Deputy Managing Director, Tan Son Nhat International Airport said that during Tet, the airport will operate an average of regarding 850 to 880 passengers per day. flight.

Notably, on the peak day (December 27), the unit will operate nearly 930 flights with the number of both international and domestic arrivals and departures per day being more than 150,000 people. This number exceeds nearly double the number of passengers operating at the station on weekdays.
