The Minister of Finance of the Mauritanian government, Eslamou Ould Mohamed Mabadi, signed with the President of the Islamic Development Bank Group, Dr. Mohamed Suleiman Al-Jasser, a financing agreement amounting to 16 million US dollars, for a project to support health care services for mothers and newborns in the country.
The Mauritanian Ministry of Finance stated that the project aims to support the state’s efforts to achieve the goals of the National Plan for Reproductive Health, Maternal and Newborn Health (2021-2025), and interventions aimed at ensuring universal access for women, newborns, children and adolescents to comprehensive, integrated, continuous and focused on the individual. .
In a related context, the Ministry of Health in Mauritania announced the allocation of medical days to diagnose and treat congenital heart malformations in children, with the support of the United Arab Emirates, from 15 to 29 June at the National Center for Heart Diseases in the capital, Nouakchott.
She indicated that a medical team consisting of 45 world-renowned specialists will undertake the tasks of diagnosis, catheterization and open-heart surgeries, free of charge during these days.
The Mauritanian Minister of Finance also signed, with the Director General of the International Islamic Trade Finance Corporation Hani Sonbol, an agreement to support the electricity sector in the country, by financing a credit line of 50 million US dollars for the Mauritanian Electricity Company in the form of Murabaha to import fuels.
