That shows that the Vietnamese community in the Czech Republic always looks to their homeland, their roots.

But there are still many people who, although very much want to return to Vietnam to celebrate Tet, but due to different circumstances have had to choose to stay in the Czech Republic on this occasion.

Talking to reporters, Ms. Thuy, the owner of a clothing stall, said that her husband had returned to Vietnam while she and her children remained in the Czech Republic because Czech schools were not closed during the Lunar New Year.

Mr. Thang, the owner of a fruit shop in the shopping center, said that because he was busy with business, he might not book a plane ticket to return home before Tet. Therefore, even on New Year’s Day, he still opened a shop to sell the rest of the goods.

Mr. Thinh, a native of Nghe An, currently doing business in electronics, said that his family is anchored but has not been able to return to Vietnam, so he still opens every Tet holiday to have the opportunity to meet Vietnamese people in the past few days. This helps to relieve the nostalgia of loved ones.

To share, encourage and spread the warm atmosphere during the traditional Tet holiday of the nation, on the morning of January 22 (the first day of Tet), the Embassy of Vietnam and the leadership of the Vietnamese Association organized a visit to ask and wish Tet greetings to Vietnamese people who have not been able to return to Vietnam.

Ambassador Thai Xuan Dung graciously inquired regarding the business and trade situation of the community in the past year, encouraging them to continue trying to overcome the difficult period affected by the war in Ukraine as well as the crisis. energy and high inflation.
