Falls Park
The park is located on more than 128 acres (51 hectares) along the Big Sioux River. On average, 7,400 gallons (28,012 liters) of water fall from 100 feet (30.5 meters) over the falls every second. The falls can be enjoyed from many vantage points, but one of the best spots is the five-story observation tower. Falls Park is also home to some of the oldest buildings in Sioux Falls.
Get active in the park on bike trails that include a 19-mile (30 km) loop, as well as more than 17 miles (27.4 kilometers) of offshoots that connect the neighborhood to the main trail. Also, don’t miss the historic horse stable, built in the late 1800s for the horses that worked in the local stone quarries. The restored barn now tells the story of agriculture and its impact on the region.
