WINTER WHITE: Combining light colors in winter – Martina Berg

Best wishes for the New Year 2023!
Happiness. Confidence. Health.

Wet, cold, cloudy days, foggy, gray in gray – it’s not that bad after all. With the right outfit I bring some brightness into my day. Dare to wear bright colors in winter. Combine great looks that are definitely not boring. With winter white, your outfits will certainly never look boring.

In the cooler season we often go for darker and muted colors. But why is that, instead of bringing some life into everyday life with bright colors?

I did some research and came to the following conclusion – color researcher Axel Buether says:
“Colors correspond to a certain extent to the mental mood that people have”, so Buether.
“It’s getting darker, we’re getting more tired, we want to hole up, flee inside, have a kind of cavernous existence and actually not have that much to do with people.”

Bright tones are the order of the day this winter

Natural tones are very trendy this winter. Even white jeans are no longer a no-go in winter. A great look that makes every gray day livelier.

White jeans with a cashmere sweater

White jeans look particularly effective when paired with a bold color. How about intense green?

The winter coat in winter white

A light coat is of course a bit more sensitive in winter than a black or gray winter coat. But why not grab a winter white coat? I’ve really had my coat for many years. Nevertheless, I wear it every winter. Monochrome with light pants, light sweater and one of my favorite accessories – the hat.

Mantel in winterweiss

Bright colors look extremely elegant in a monochrome look in winter. Combine a cape with imitation fur and a matching beret with the light coat. This is an outfit that gets a lot of compliments – every time I wear it.

Winter white: light pants with a light top

I like to combine my light stirrup pants with boots. With a light turtleneck and an extravagant poncho, the outfit in winter white looks very unusual.

4 valuable styling tips for bright outfits in winter

You know my credo: only buy something new when you can create 3 new outfits with it, using the clothes you already have. But why always buy new when the wardrobe is full. With my styling tips, it will be really easy for you to put together new outfits for the cooler season:

  1. Sort your outfits by color. This gives you an immediate overview of how many bright colors you have hanging in your closet.
  2. If you want to wear your white jeans in winter, combine them with a fluffy sweater. This can be in beige or camel color. Wear a white blouse underneath, or a thin, light turtleneck.
  3. Combine several light tones together in a kind of onion look. Pay attention to different materials. This gives the look a more interesting effect than if everything is made of the same material.
  4. This winter there is an enormous number of bright boots and boots. Combine it with your white jeans, or winter white trousers, dresses or chic knitted skirts.

Other combination partners for light-colored trousers this winter are checked cozy shirts for those who want it extremely casual. An XL sweater with a coarse knit is very trendy. This can make the look even more interesting with a cozy scarf.

There are also quilted vests in light colors, which are really useful for winter walks or for cooler rooms.

Whether rather casual or rather elegant – with winter white you have many possibilities to stand out from the crowd and even bring light into the dark on cloudy days.

Now I’m really curious if you’re one of the lovers of bright colors in winter. Let me know if you wear the monochrome look in winter white.

Take care of me – and have a good start into the year 2023!
sincerely
