Winter Holidays Event Part 1 in Pokémon Go: date, Balbalèze, bonus…

Pokémon Go has revealed part 1 of the 2023 Winter Holidays event, which introduces Piétacé and Balbalèze, and a costume for Pikachu and Raichu among other new features. Here is the full program of the event.

The Time Travel season began on December 1, 2023, bringing a plethora of new events and in-game Pokémon to Pokémon Go.

The event not to be missed this month of December is undoubtedly the Winter Festivals, the program of which is separated into two very distinct parts.

The first part of the event will notably be the opportunity to meet the Ice-type Pokémon Pietaceous and Balbalèze for the first time. Costume aficionados will also be delighted to learn that Pikachu and Raichu will be entitled to a new costumed variant.

According to Pokémon Go blogthe 2023 Winter Holidays Part 1 event will begin on Monday, December 18, 2023 at 10 a.m. and end on Monday, December 25, 2023 at 10 a.m. local time.

  • Sablette d’Alola*
  • Australia*
  • Eevee wearing a party hat*
  • Markacrin*
  • Cerfrousse wearing a festive outfit*
  • Obalie wearing a festive scarf*
  • Darumarond de Galar*
  • Hexagel*
  • Grelaçon*
  • Pietaceous
  • Saucer* (rare encounters)
  • Pig (rare encounter)

Trainers will also be able to earn Blizzaroi and Oniglali Mega Energy from Field Research Tasks.

Pokémon Go Winter Holiday 2023 Bonus – Part 1

For the first time in Pokémon Go history, Trainers will be able to choose a bonus from two options when completing the event’s free One-Time Research.

Here are the event bonuses:

  • A choice from:
    • XP x2 for catching Pokémon
    • Stardust x2 for catching Pokémon
  • XP and Stardust x2 when opening Gifts

Pokémon Go Winter Holiday 2023 Cosmetics – Part 1

Niantic is also introducing new avatar items to the store during the event.

  • Cadoizo jumpsuit
  • Pietaceous Hat
  • Party Boots
  • Party gloves
  • Party Sweater with Scarf (via Prime Gaming December 15-19)

Pokémon Go Winter Holiday 2023 Spot Studies – Part 1

No less than 3 one-off Studies will be available during the first part of the Winter Holidays. Two paid and one free.

The free Winter Wishes One-Time Research allows Trainers to choose between Double XP for catching Pokémon or Double Stardust for catching Pokémon, among other rewards. Their choice will determine the tasks to be accomplished.

Two paid one-off Studies will be available, the first being a two-part quest for €2 which will also extend over the 2nd part of the 2023 Winter Holidays. The latter will allow you to obtain Premium Battle Passes and meet Pokémon related to the event, including Psyduck with a brand new costume.

The second paid Study is €5 and gives you the chance to win an avatar pose on the theme of the event, Capture Candies x2 as well as common rewards with the €2 Study.
