Today, Saturday, 4 Egyptian governorates witnessed light rain, in separate parts of them, in conjunction with the warnings of the Meteorological Authority in its statement yesterday, Friday, of the possibility of rain in the governorates of the North Coast and Lower Egypt.

Scattered parts of the governorates of Alexandria, Beheira, Gharbia and Menoufia were hit by light rain, today, Saturday, without any water gatherings in the streets, while sewage companies in those governorates drove their cars to hot spots.

Today, Saturday, the executive bodies and sewage companies in Alexandria, Beheira, Gharbia, and Menoufia raised the state of emergency, in preparation for the wave of bad weather and the expected rainfall.

According to the Meteorological Authority, moderate rains, sometimes thunderstorms, are expected today in areas of the northern coasts and Alexandria Governorate, with an incidence of 80%.

Major General Mohamed Al-Sharif, Governor of Alexandria, announced full coordination and cooperation between all service and vital sectors in the governorate, led by the Sanitation and Drinking Water Company, the Traffic Department and Civil Protection, and announced the continuation of the study without disruption.

He directed all the concerned executive bodies to continuously monitor the condition of the various streets and monitor any emergency cases to avoid any problems in any area as a result of the rains, and to ensure that traffic flow is achieved in all Alexandria streets.

He explained that the governorate’s operations room continues to be held permanently and continuously, in order to deal with any emergency crisis, as the room receives all citizens’ complaints regarding rainwater accumulations.
