The project to rehabilitate the Administrative City of Liège into a zero-carbon building carried out by the temporary association Baumans-Deffect / Canevas won the Grand Prix d’Architecture de Wallonie in the “public building” category last Thursday.
The Liège architecture and town planning office Baumans-Deffect also won a second Grand Prix d’Architecture de Wallonie in the Heritage category with the project to convert a former boiler room in Charleroi into a training center.
It should be noted that Liège architect Olivier Fourneau is also a winner in the “Plus 3” category for the new building built at the corner of Place Cockerill and Rue de la Régence.
The Grand Prix d’Architecture de Wallonie rewards remarkable projects representative of the diversity of recent Walloon architectural heritage. Organized by the Walloon Union of Architects (UWA) and the Regional House of Architecture and Urban Planning (MRAU), it highlights the best of Walloon architecture and aims to encourage those who produce it.
