‘WinFast’ to hire 8,000 more people to boost electric vehicle production

HANOI – Vietnam’s VinFast is to hire 8,000 more people for an electric car factory in Vietnam. As the company ramps up production to deliver its battery-powered SUVs (SUVs) to the United States. by the end of this year

VinFast is a subsidiary of Vingroup, Vietnam’s largest conglomerate. It currently has a total of 6,000 employees.

“This new recruitment is to support the expansion of VinFast’s production. The new staff will also include assembly line workers, technicians and engineers starting from August. and this September,” the company said on its Facebook page announcing employment for the factory in Hai Phong province.

Hai Phong currently has a production capacity of 250,000 vehicles a year, and VinFast will increase its production capacity to 600,000 vehicles by 2026.

In March, Vinfast announced it would build a plant in North Carolina with an initial capacity of 150,000 electric vehicles a year, and the company said the plant would create regarding 7,500 jobs.

VinFast expects to sell 750,000 electric vehicles a year by 2026, starting with the VF8 and VF9 electric SUVs, which the company plans to start in Vietnam for North America and Europe.

The company said it had received nearly 8,000 U.S. bookings and expected to export and deliver the VF8 from its Haiphong plant to U.S. customers. available before the end of this year

The expansion of VinFast’s production capacity and employment in Vietnam came at a time when Samsung Inc. Electronics (Samsung Electronics) cut production at its smartphone factory in Vietnam as demand slowed.
