Windows can also use Apple’s Studio Display, but it depends on Boot Camp
Now that the Apple Studio Display, the most versatile Apple display ever, has its support list, it also includes the Intel Mac lineup that Apple has been rushing to replace recently with the M1. Of course, the official also has to take into account the needs of these users when they may switch to the Windows system. Recently, it was confirmed that Boot Camp has been updated to include support for Studio Display.
Although the Apple Studio Display is not an affordable price, it may be relatively less attractive to Windows users. However, for users who are already using, or are still considering purchasing Intel’s Apple desktop series. Switching to Windows through Boot Camp may be their daily use, so there is still a need to use Studio Display through Windows.
In response, Apple’s recently released Boot Camp version 6.1.17 officially added support for Apple Studio Display, and simultaneously updated AMD and Intel GPU drivers.
That said, although it all sounds like Apple is going to make this screen work just fine on Windows. However, according to reports, at this stage, including character centering, spatial audio and Hey, Siri is still only available on macOS. Basically, it’s similar to the situation where the iPad device is currently connected to the Apple Studio Display and can only be used as a normal screen display – at least not like Boot Camp has been blacked out in the past… But in Windows systems, you can still use the screen’s built-in hypervisor. Wide-angle camera, microphone/speaker. However, it is mentioned that, depending on the model, the external connection may not be able to support the maximum 5K 60Hz specification of this screen.
