Windows Autopatch is coming to help you easily install updates

Thanks to this new system, the IT administrators can save time and resources to create value. For organizations choosing this option, the second Tuesday of each month will be “a Tuesday like any other“,” describes Microsoft.

Through this, the company also hopes to minimize the risk of its customers exposed to serious and recently discovered security vulnerabilities. The delay between the release of a patch and its installation by users can be up to several months and automation can solve this problem and thus ensure that companies are protected against hacking threats.

Microsoft Teams et Microsoft Edge are currently excluded from this program and will have to be updated manually on the different machines using the usual update channels for these two software.

To anticipate update problems, Windows Autopatch will spread the deployment over several phases, the first of which will only concern a very limited number of users in a company, then 1%, 9% and then 90% of the fleet if the Applying patches does not pose any particular problems, all without administrator intervention.

This new service will be offered free of charge to all users and is already available in a public beta version.
