Windows 11’s new reminder function notifies that the computer specification does not meet the requirements

Although old computers can be upgraded from Windows 10, they may not meet the minimum system requirements of Windows 11. In the recently provided preview version of Windows 11 Insider Preview Build 22557, users can finally know whether their computers meet the standards, and related functions are expected to be released later this year. It will be fully open to all users following that time.

In Windows 11’s Settings program, under the device name on the System page will show whether the computer meets the minimum system requirements. When Windows 11 was released, Microsoft’s announcement of minimum system requirements, especially RAM capacity and processor version, attracted criticism from many users. Later, Microsoft needed to explain, saying that older processors may have poor experience.

Although computers that do not meet the minimum system requirements cannot upgrade Windows 11 in the traditional way, many users are still able to install Windows 11 through the Media Creation Tool or by directly downloading the ISO. Microsoft now puts prompts prominently in Settings to alert users that their experience may be compromised by not meeting minimum standards.
