The first Windows 11 feature update is expected next fall. Microsoft plans a lot of things especially at the taskbar level.
We have already mentioned several times the possible return of the popular drag and drop. This is not a novelty but a kind of backwards machine. Indeed Microsoft, for some unknown reason, decided to remove it. His absence does not go unnoticed because this is a key function for optimizing his time and productivity.
Other improvements are normally planned, including a better menu overlay. Microsoft also appears to be working on a new feature that will quickly display recently opened apps on a phone. The leak is from Samsung. This feature was quietly unveiled at its latest “unpacked” event.
Windows 11 and the Your Phone app
This function called “Recent App” is part of the Your Phone application. It concerns for the moment only devices under the Android operating system. Taskbar integration is a quick and easy way to access the last three recently used apps.
A screenshot shows the Your Phone icon appearing on the right side of the taskbar, next to options such as WiFi or audio. This feature is gradually rolling out through the Windows Insider Program to select Samsung devices. Microsoft also plans to roll it out to Windows 10 PCs over the next few weeks. However, we do not have a precise timetable.
It requires the presence of Android 9.0 or newer and Link To Windows. The PC and the smartphone must be connected to the same Wi-Fi network while Your Phone must be in version 1.21092.145.0 or higher.
