Windows 11, the start menu improves as well as the File Explorer

Microsoft continues to improve the Windows 11 start menu. The latest Preview available on DEV and BETA channels brings optimizations and fixes.

Microsoft seems determined to make the necessary fixes so that the start menu works as expected. This is a central element of the changes offered by Windows 11. Natively it is no longer in the lower left corner but is found in the center of the taskbar.

The last Preview de Windows 11 makes several changes. One of the highlights is probably the arrival of a patch that should please many users. Redmond fixes an important bug. The search box should no longer flash.

File Explorer improvements

The file manager also gets improvements. This concerns in particular the context menu and the command bar. Here again we are entitled to corrections. One of them addresses missing icons next to entries in the context menu and command bar. In parallel, small adjustments are made to some of the icons, including the copy icon. The giant also adjusts the icon of folders whose only content is other folders.

Finally we have fixed an issue where the file explorer crashes when using the “Group by” option.
