Microsoft Windows 11

Windows 11 embodies the modern vision of Windows. Its engine offers many new features, but it is difficult to forget the past and no longer provide support for old equipment.

This operating system began its deployment in October 2021. Slowly but surely its availability is improving. It is aimed at all modern PCs due to certain hardware requirements. Windows 11 cannot be installed on all Windows 10 computers. Its system requirements make some of them obsolete, the older ones. This choice is a rather hot topic because it pushes on one side to the purchase while on the other the tests show that the oldest Windows 10 PCs do not encounter any particular difficulties in running it.

Windows 11 and 5.25 inch floppy disks

A recent video puts a little oil on the fire. It turns out that Windows 11 is perfectly capable of supporting very old disk drives. We are talking regarding flexible floppy disks in the 5.25 inch format. Their content can be read without problem. From a certain point of view this is not a surprise. Support for older devices is a necessity for obvious compatibility reasons. This discovery is however smiling because few people still use this type of storage medium, especially in this format.

This video confirms once once more that Windows 11 is not an operating system exclusively for new hardware. Will it relaunch the debate on its material requirements?
