Windows 11 PC not supported, a watermark denouncing it appears on the desktop

We talked regarding it and it’s now official. Microsoft decides to point the finger at Windows 11 PCs that do not meet the minimum hardware requirements.

Many users are victims of a particular message on the Windows 11 desktop. It is a notification in the form of a watermark like the one used if Windows is not activated. Present on the bottom of the screen on the right it indicates that the PC does not meet the requirements of Windows 11. The message is

« System requirements not met. Go to Settings to learn more »

It appeared following the installation of the latest cumulative updates. They were deployed on Patch Tuesday in February 2023.

Normally the Windows installer is designed to prevent the installation of Windows 11 on PCs that do not meet the minimum system requirements, especially with regard to the TPM module. There are, however, ways to circumvent this hardware requirements check. The goal is to force installation on unsupported hardware.

Microsoft has decided to verify, using a Patch Tuesday update, whether Windows 11 is running on an eligible machine. Otherwise a watermark appears. The good news is that there is no impact on operating system functionality. It seems to work as expected.
