Microsoft is allowing PCs running a “Preview” version of Windows 11 Beta Channel to revert to a more stable experience. Please note that this opening is not eternal. It ends in a few days.
The software giant has just announced an opening window for PCs enrolled in the Windows Insider program beta channel. It allows you to unsubscribe from the program in order to return to a “stable” and consumer version of Windows 11.
The operation goes through the automatic removal of the activation package. The program has started and will end on March 8. It only concerns machines under Windows 11 build 22621.1325 or 22623.1325. In the event that an older version is present, it will first have to be updated.
Redmond explains
“During this exit ramp, a troubleshooter will run to unenroll the device upon receiving new previews in the beta channel. It will also uninstall the activation package (EKB) if needed. After the troubleshooter completes, a reboot will be required to complete the process. After that, the device will no longer receive new Insider Preview builds from the beta channel. To see if this troubleshooter was run on your device, go to Settings > Troubleshoot > Trouble History”.
Once the device has left the Windows Insider Program, the next step is to get the latest security updates. They will be offered on March 8, the date of the next Patch Tuesday. They will allow him to reintegrate the classic maintenance schedule. The firm adds
Once the troubleshooting process is complete, the device will be upgraded to Version “B” of the March 2023 Patch Tuesday updates. It will update the device to Windows 11 22H2 adoption . From then on, the device will continue to receive normal maintenance updates every month.
