For a week now, you can test the new features of the Moment 3 update for Windows 11. It is offered through KB5026446.
This is an optional update, so manual intervention in Windows Update is required to trigger its download. It offers several new features, bug fixes and significant performance improvements.

The most striking facts concern the support of seconds by the system tray clock, the addition of the LKD (live kernel memory dump) function in the task manager or a page dedicated to USB 4.0 in Settings. Microsoft does not stop there since there is a long list of fixes and significant performance improvements.

They concern several functions of the operating system. For example, the giant promises faster searches and optimized gameplay for players with a mouse capable of supporting a high polling rate. The latter corresponds to the frequency of data transmissions with the PC.
Redmond says it worked on the GUI responder improving the speed of the most frequently used interactions by 15%. This ranges from the taskbar to notifications to quick settings.
The operating system improves as a whole through a time required to arrive on the desktop reduced by 10%. Startup application requirements have been reduced by more than half. New energy recommendations are available while the maintenance service (Windows Update) is able to take into account its operating carbon footprint.
Finally, some native Windows 11 applications benefit from various improvements. For example
- Microsoft Edge starts faster and is less memory intensive thanks to the “sleeping tabs” function
- The new Teams application is twice as fast while being half as resource intensive.
