Windows 11, Microsoft updates 190,000 of its PCs in 5 weeks

Windows 11 is still rolling out to many eligible devices. Like any company, Microsoft is also upgrading its computer equipment to adopt its latest operating system.

The giant explains that this upgrade process went without any problems. It took just five weeks for 190,000 machines to adopt Windows 11. The firm adds

“The introduction of a new operating system […] naturally led to questions regarding device downtime and app compatibility. However, with established practices and evolved solutions in hand, historical obstacles have become a thing of the past. Microsoft’s Windows 11 rollout has been the most streamlined yet, providing employees with the latest operating system in record time. »

Windows 11 and app compatibility

One of the major concerns during this mission was app compatibility. The giant relied on App Assure to ensure that no such issues occur during and following the upgrade to Windows 11.

It is thus specified

“Data from App Assure, a Microsoft service available to all customers with eligible subscriptions, shows that the company had 99.7% compatibility for all apps in Windows 11, eliminating the need for extensive testing. It also meant that employees’ Windows 10 apps worked seamlessly with Windows 11. Additionally, Microsoft Endpoint Manager and Windows Update for Business eliminated the need for multiple disk images and made it easier to get Windows 11.”

The upgrade process has been divided into three different plans to plan, prepare, and deploy the OS.

Microsoft recommendations when updating a computer park to Windows 11
