Present in most gamer setups around the world, monitors with a refresh rate greater than 60Hz will finally have news soon integrated into Windows 11, with tests already started on Windows 11 Canary.
Initially available in the most recent compilation of the channel in question, users who use more than one monitor with a higher refresh rate will be able to have individual adjustments for specific contents on each monitor, that is, you can, for example, have a monitor playing at a high rate to play the game while another one that is only with a static image or screen that demands less at a lower rate.
This change in the way of understanding refresh rates will especially favor those who use gamer notebooks with external monitors, giving greater control over management.
In addition to the novelty related to the refresh rate, build 25915 of Windows 11 Canary brings the possibility of using the Dynamic refresh rate for better energy management, if the user chooses to use the notebook or tablet in battery saving mode, however support for this functionality is required in order to be able to take advantage of it.
It is worth noting that this is not the only recent news related to screens presented by Microsoft in Windows. Recently, Patch Tuesday of July 2023 brought adaptive brightness control on notebooks and 2-in-1s, with the possibility of managing the different display areas, depending on the content.
To benefit from this already available function, users can customize the feature by going to Settings > System > Display > Brightness & Color.
