Windows 11, KB5010414 is causing some problems

The recent Windows 11 KB5010414 update is causing a few issues. Negative feedback is multiplying on the Feedback Hub. Some users are victims of failures following its installation. These concerns concern the Start menu and the taskbar.

The Start menu is an essential part of the Windows 11 interface. Although it has lost its flexibility compared to Windows 10, it still provides quick access to installed applications.

Unfortunately he does not seem to appreciate the installation of the cumulative update KB5010414. For some users, a bug appears. It triggers its automatic closing when hovering over icons pinned to the taskbar.

Windows 11 and KB5010414

According to Microsoft officials, this is not a “bug”. In fact it is a design choice due to improvements made by KB5010414. The widgets module is now pinned to the left side of the taskbar. It opens as soon as you hover over the weather icon, which can cause a conflict with the start menu. The latter opens and then closes quickly

A user adds

“If the cursor hovers over the widgets icon, Windows 11 closes the start menu because it thinks you want to open the widget menu, it should only close the start menu when the widget menu opens. »

Microsoft has confirmed that it has made changes to Preview builds to address an issue where the Start menu opens and then closes when the cursor is moved. However, we have no other information. Redmond, on the other hand, clarified that this problem was under study.

It seems that KB5010414 is also causing issues with the taskbar. In some cases it does not load or it appears empty.
