Microsoft just released the latest Windows 11 Insider Preview build for the Dev Channelincreasing the build number to 25182. This new build is now due to expire on September 15, 2023, and while you still have plenty of time, it’s always good to pay attention to those expiration notices so your Insider build doesn’t stop not to function. .

The release includes two notable improvements, one an update to the Camera app that “can now understand the status of the privacy shutter on supported hardware, like Microsoft Modern Webcam or Built-in Camera on many new Windows 11 laptops”. The camera app will now be able to display a warning if these cameras have a shutter blocking the view or a closed laptop lid, noting that the camera is blocked and offering help.

The Microsoft Store app is also getting an update, offering some improvements:

Along with these app improvements, there are a number of fixes in this latest version, including for issues causing decreased FPS when playing games, crashing Start menu, “left half of bar File Explorer title tag to not be draggable via mouse or touch”, unexpectedly duplicated folders in File Explorer navigation pane or desktop, and an issue causing the light of the camera on laptops.

Known issues still exist for Windows in general, as well as File Explorer, Widgets, and Printing. Be sure to check out the blog for a full list.
