Zoom/Windows Copilot is an AI-powered feature available in preview builds of Windows 11. Last month, Microsoft announced that it would continue its adventure with ChatGPT in everything with a new Windows 11 feature called Copilot. The company added generative AI to Edge and the Bing-powered taskbar search box months ago, but Copilot promises to be the sharpest, hard-to-ignore version of the big batch of AI in its most blunt, hard-to-ignore product. . This week’s Windows Insider Preview build for Dev Channel users, build 23493, will also be the first to activate the copilot program for public testers. After installing the update, preview users can press Windows + C to open the Copilot column on the right side of the screen. It will use the same Microsoft account that you use for the rest of the OS (it’s unclear if it will work without a Microsoft account, although the preview as of today requires registration and login). And like other Bing Chat apps, it has three different “conversational style” settings that either try to outdo the chatbot and keep its responses simple and matter-of-fact, or allow it to become “more creative” but more objective. In addition to chat, Copilot will also support AI imaging using OpenAI’s DALL-E 2 model, the same technology used in Bing’s image generator. Some features announced last month, including support for third-party plug-ins, were not included in this initial preview, and later versions will also be able to adjust a wider range of Windows settings. “Over time, features will be added as we improve the Windows Copilot experience with Windows Insiders,” the company blog bed. Examples from Microsoft include turning on dark mode, Do Not Disturb, or taking a screenshot. Copilot will also launch with Bing Ads from scratch. Microsoft will show you ads the company thinks.”[s] “Copilot is governed by the same declaration of confidentiality which applies to the rest of Bing files. As usual, the new Insider Preview also comes with many other fixes, features, and changes. The Settings app is getting a redesigned “home page” with “cards” that give you information regarding different things or let you quickly change general settings — although of the seven cards Microsoft is offering today, four are tied to Microsoft account services like Microsoft 365 OneDrive, Xbox subscription settings, and account recovery. Others will show you connected Bluetooth devices, let you quickly change the look of your desktop, and give recommendations for tweaking your settings. It will also be the first version of Windows 11 to add native support for compressed archives other than the long-running zip format, thanks to the open source libarchive library. Windows 11 will now support reading all types of .tar files, as well as RAR, 7-zip, and other formats. The Settings app homepage and some other features are gradually being rolled out and may not be available to everyone who installs the new preview, at least not right away.
