Microsoft has been offering a new build of Windows 11 for a few days, build 23511. It is available through the DEV channel of the Windows Insider program.

It brings several improvements and novelties. After trying different approaches to how Windows looks on the front page, Microsoft is rolling out a single template. It includes full-screen image preview, multiple opportunities to learn more regarding each image, and a scaled-down experience.

Windows 11 now recommends using a pop-up dialog to launch the automatic troubleshooter if a camera streaming issue is detected.

Regarding Copilot, Microsoft explains

Dev Channel users who sign in and are managed by AAD (coming soon Microsoft Entra ID) will notice that Windows Copilot Preview is no longer available in this release. It’s only a temporary problem. You can temporarily enable it via policy (…) Windows Copilot Preview will be enabled by default when the next build is released, including Bing Chat for Enterprise support.

People logged into a Windows 11 Pro or Enterprise edition with an AAD account (coming soon Microsoft Entra ID), enjoy a richer overview when hovering over files such as Word documents present in the Recommended section of the Start menu.

Thumbnails are not yet available for all files and a future update is planned to offer this new feature to other file types and MSA users.

All applications present in the Start menu display a “system” label. This change is unfolding in waves.

Notifications now display as a bell in the system tray. The arrival of new notifications is accompanied by a bell which is colored according to the accent color of the system. The number of notifications is no longer displayed. When there are no notifications the bell is empty.

Some modifications are made to the file explorer in order to improve the performance of the “calculation” phase when sending a large number of files. This also applies to trashing. Finally, Microsoft indicates that it has fixed a bug causing a crash that does not allow suggestions in instant layouts.

The giant adds

We’re starting to roll them out once more through the dev channel. Suggestions in “Snap” layouts help instantly assemble multiple application windows. When you hover over an app’s minimize or maximize button (or WIN+Z) to launch the layout area, you’ll see app icons displayed in various layout options to help you use the best layout option .

Another problem has also found a solution. This caused some instability and led Redmond to disable the new settings homepage. It is deployed once more.

To all this is added

Three fixes for File Explorer, Two fixes for Notifications, Two fixes for Taskbar and System Tray, And fixes for Task View, Taskbar Search and ink

Being on the Dev channel, this version of Windows 11 is not recommended for a production PC. We have known issues. They affect the OS in general, the start menu, Copilot, File Explorer, Dynamic Lighting and Ink.
