Windows 11: beware, the new update may slow down file transfer

Microsoft is currently rolling out Windows 11 2022 Update (22H2). But it is better to wait a bit before installing it.

The update, available in waves through Windows Update, is for eligible Windows 10 and Windows 11 devices. But several problems have already been reported by the Redmond firm and some users.

These include compatibility issues with some printers, issues with Intel Smart Sound Technology drivers, or, more importantly, as this concerns the majority of users: performance issues when transferring large files.

According to Microsoft, the transfer speed can be reduced by 40% if the file exceeds 1 GB. And this is only for the 22H2 update, because copying the same file to an unupdated machine will not be a problem.

As the concern is known to Microsoft teams, a patch should be released soon. But until then, we advise you to be patient.
