Microsoft continues to work on Windows 11 to optimize its experience. In some cases the approach involves the introduction not of a novelty but of a feature already available in Windows 10.
As discovered Albacore, Microsoft wants to reintroduce the “never combine” option in the taskbar. As its name suggests, it allows you to display all the elements of the taskbar separately.
In his intervention Albacore explains
Windows 11 is getting a new “Never combine” taskbar setting. It no longer features window titles like in Windows 10 and earlier, but retains the icon as a window mechanic that some might still find useful.
Windows 11 and the taskbar
The taskbar was one of the great new features introduced by Windows 11. Since its launch Microsoft has been working to refine its experience and fill its gaps. Some are even crucial like drag and drop. It took months to see its return through build 22557. Now it is slowly rolling out to consumer PCs. It is part of the new features of Windows 11 2022 Updatre alias 22H2.
On this subject Microsoft explained
Drag-and-drop is now supported by the Windows 11 taskbar. Quickly drag and drop files between app windows, hovering over apps in the taskbar to bring their windows to the front.
Try attaching a file to an Outlook email message by dragging it and hovering over the Outlook icon in the taskbar to bring the window to the front.
Once in the foreground, drop your file into the email to attach it. You can also customize your taskbar with your favorite apps from the All Home screen apps list by dragging and dropping on the taskbar to pin them. You can also drag and drop to the desktop via “Show desktop” in the right corner of the taskbar.
