Windows 11 and the Moment 2 update, all the news around the Screen Capture tool

The Windows 11 Snipping Tool gets a major update. It unfolds through the update Moment 2 proposed for a few days. The application is now able to record what is happening on the screen.

Windows and more particularly Windows 11 comes with several native applications and utilities. The Snipping Tool is part of this list. Popular, it has survived the various households undertaken by Microsoft. It has therefore not been abandoned and the firm even devotes time to it in order to enrich and improve it. This is what the Moment 2 update offers.

This new enhancement pack for Windows 11 brings a big step forward with support for video recording. Until now, this type of functionality was reserved for third-party tools such as the Xbox Game Bar.

Now the Screen Capture tool offers this advance through a practical and fast approach. Microsoft tries to make the process as simple as possible. For example, we have a specific keyboard shortcut to launch the utility. It’s “WIN + SHIFT +S”.

We’re continuing to expand the capabilities of this fan-favorite app, so now you can easily capture, save and share your creations – all right within the app. To use the screen recording feature, you can find and launch the Snipping Tool via Search on the taskbar and select record. Your screenshots are now automatically saved in a default folder, so you won’t have to worry about possible loss.

With this important update, the Snipping tool regains interest and is armed with a feature appreciated by many. It also makes it possible to respond favorably to a request from the Windows community.

Regarding “Moment 2”, it is currently necessary to trigger its download and installation manually by going to Windows Update. The process will go into automatic mode on the next Patch Tuesday.
