Microsoft plans to release a new Moment update, Moment 3. It will introduce new features, optimizations and changes in Windows 11.

For the moment we have no precise date concerning its deployment. On the other hand, the tests are continuing and an important step has been taken. For the past few days, this Moment 3 update has been available to PCs registered on the Release Preview channel of the Windows Insider program.

Going back to the content of Moment 3, the focus is on new stuff with a lot of little things here and there. There is no revolution but improvements, optimizations and adjustments to enrich the OS.

Windows 11 and Moment 3, the big news

This update adds live subtitles for the following languages: Chinese (Simplified and Traditional), French (France, Canada), German, Italian, Japanese, Portuguese (Brazil, Portugal), Spanish, Danish, English (Ireland , other English dialects) and Korean. Microsoft specifies that to activate the live subtitles it is necessary to use the keyboard shortcut WIN + Ctrl + L. The help page of the voice access command integrated into the application is redesigned with some new features.

Windows 11 supports voice access commands for the following English dialects: French (France), French (India), English (New Zealand), French (Canada), and French (Australia). There’s also new text selection and editing of voice access commands.

The VPN status icon is enriched with a small shield in the system tray (time zone with date). It indicates a connection to a recognized VPN profile. It is possible to display the seconds in the clock. A button to copy two-factor authentication (2FA) codes is available (English only).

File Explorer context menu access keys are added and security is improved with multi-app kiosk mode. This is a locking feature. A new widget picker experience is offered with the presence of an image that gives a visual preview before pinning.

The task manager is enriched with the LKD alias the Live Kernel Memory Dump to collect data to troubleshoot while Windows 11 is running. Adaptive Content Brightness Control (CABC) is possible on laptops and 2-in-1 devices. USB 4.0 finds its place in Parameters in order to have information on the equipment and the connected peripherals.

We also have a presence sensor privacy setting to choose which apps can access this type of sensor.

Microsoft is also promising search performance improvements in Settings, a change to the default behavior of the print screen key (it now launches the Snipping Tool), and the introduction of a limit of 20 most recent tabs. in Settings > Multitasking. This change affects the number of tabs that appear when using ALT+TAB and Snap Assist!
