Windows 11, a big step has been taken!

Microsoft has officially completed the rollout of Windows 11. The operating system is now ready to be offered on a large scale.

In other words, Windows 11 is now ready for all eligible PCs. If you haven’t yet migrated to this new environment from Windows 10, the free upgrade should appear in Windows Update. There is only one restriction. Your equipment must meet the minimum requirements.

Windows 11, the next appointment is called 22H2

Windows 11 was announced in June 2021 while its deployment began in October 2021. Since then, Microsoft has gradually offered it to more and more different configurations. This “cautious” approach is a way to control the download and installation process. In the event of a critical bug, the number of victims is limited while restrictions are put in place to continue the deployment in safety while developing the necessary patches in parallel.

During the kickoff Microsoft had announced a schedule. The free upgrade was supposed to be offered to all eligible PCs before the summer. It is now done. The OS is however not perfect and among all the bugs recognized by Microsoft one of them has not yet been corrected. The firm explains

“After installing the updates released on May 10, 2022 on your domain controllers, you may see authentication failures on the server or client for services such as NPS (Network Policy Server), RRAS (Routing and Remote Access Service), Radius, Extensible Authentication Protocol (EAP) and PEAP (Protected Extensible Authentication Protocol). A problem has been detected. It is related to how the mapping of certificates to computer accounts is handled by the domain controller.”

A fix is in the works.

Now all eyes will turn to the alias Windows 11 22H2 suite. This is the first ever feature update.
