This Monday, following the passage of a storm depression near our regions, the wind will be sustained with, in many places, gusts between 75 and 85 km / h, or even locally more, alert Sunday the royal institute meteorological (MRI). It is for this reason that the city of Antwerp has decided to activate its anti-flood device.
It predicts heavy rainfall on the relief of the province of Liège with accumulations in 24 hours that can exceed 25 liters / m2, and very locally reach up to 40 or even 50 liters / m2. These are the maximum values provided by the most pessimistic projection, says the MRI.
Part of this precipitation will fall in the form of snow, and more particularly on the heights of the Ardennes. Above 500-600 m altitude, it will often be snow that can lead to accumulations over 24 hours of 5 to 10 cm, even up to regarding 15 cm in Hautes-Fagnes.
