It’s a big day ahead of the Belgian contingent at Wimbledon on Tuesday. As the first round matches continue, six of our compatriots will make their debut.
To start with David Goffin et Yanina Wickmayer, who qualified brilliantly at the start of the afternoon. The Liègeois, 58th in the world, dominated the Moldavian Albot while the Antwerp woman who fell to 606th place in the WTA easily defeated the Chinese Zhu (99th in the world) in two sets.
In the second match, Maryna Zanevska (WTA 68) will have a hard time facing the Czech Barbora Krejcikova, 14th in the world. Kirsten Flipkens (WTA 190) benefited from a more lenient draw with Australian Jaimee Fourlis (WTA 150), whom she will face around 2 p.m.
