Spaniard Roberto Bautista Agut, (ATP 19) withdraws from his match in the second round of the Wimbledon tournament following testing positive for Covid.
“Today I informed Wimbledon of my withdrawal. I am Covid positive“, wrote the 2019 semi-finalist on the London lawn and recent winner of the Genevan Antoine Bellier in the semi-final in Mallorca, on his Twitter account.
“Fortunately, the symptoms are not very serious, but I think it is the best decision. I hope to come back soon“, he added.
Bautista Agut (34) was due to face the Colombian Daniel Galan (109th) at the end of the followingnoon, who is therefore qualified for the 3rd round. In the first round on Tuesday, the Spaniard had dominated the Hungarian Attila Balázs (331) 6-1, 6-0, 6-3.
