Relatives of Williams Dávila said on Thursday that the Venezuelan opposition leader remains hospitalized and is in a “delicate state of health, under the custody of the Sebin, the only ones who have access to him are doctors, we have no first-hand information.”
They also denied a photograph circulating on social media showing Dávila covered in bruises. They also indicated that “a possible release” is not yet planned.
“As long as there are no guarantees, Williams remains a political prisoner. The only official information is that which is shared on his social networks. Help us to spread this information,” they said.
Earlier, William Alejandro Dávila, the son of the Venezuelan opposition leader, reported on Wednesday night that his father is in serious health condition. Dávila was rushed to a medical center, while he remains in the custody of the Venezuelan government without his family having any information about his condition.
The La Tarde program on NTN24 spoke with William Alejandro Dávila about the latest information available about his father.
“We knew through unofficial means that he was in the Helicoide,” he said. “On Sunday night, some medicines were brought into the Helicoide, which confirmed to us that he was there,” he added.
He also said that his family learned of his father’s health on Tuesday night, after receiving a call saying that he was being urgently transferred to the Caracas Clinic.
“We didn’t find out through official channels, but because he has many acquaintances at that clinic,” he said. “They told us that he was coming in with a very serious medical condition,” he stressed.
