WWE is officially turning the page and ending the NXT we’ve seen for the past few years. Yesterday during the New Year’s Evil special edition of the show, Bron Breakker sent a strong message by destroying the NXT logo during his entry, before beating Tommaso Ciampa and becoming champion. But when in doubt, WWE makes it clear to us today that it is the end of an era.

Indeed, 2022 begins with a wave of layoffs on the side of the WWE on Wednesday, January 5. NXT is primarily affected and for good reason, WWE claims via Fightful that “With the constant evolution of NXT 2.0, we have decided to part ways with some staff in our Performance Center. We thank them for their many contributions over the years and wish them the best..”
Among the biggest names, we find there William Regal. He was General Manager of NXT since 2014 and will have helped the success of the show, whether behind or in front of the cameras. Road Dogg, producer since 2014, was also fired, as was Scott Armstrong. This former referee was put on leave in April 2020 before being resumed in October of the same year as a producer.
Here is the full list of names returned:
- William Regal
- Road Dogg, producteur
- Scott Armstrong, producer
- Hideki Suzuki (de Diamond Mine)
- Timothy Thatcher, coach since his absence from television
- Danny Burch, coach since his absence from television
