Venezuelan catcher William Contreras drove in four runs in the Milwaukee Brewers’ 10-0 thrashing of the Atlanta Braves on Tuesday in Major League Baseball.

Contreras drove in the first run of the game, which was played at Truist Park. The catcher hit a triple in the first inning to bring Brice Turang home and later scored on a home run by Willy Adames.

Then in the sixth inning he hit a double to right field to drive in two more runs, which represented 9-0. In the eighth inning he hit another two-base hit to drive in Jackson Chourio for the final 10-0.

Performance

The catcher went 3-for-4 with a pair of runs scored, four RBIs, and received a walk. Together with Dominican Adames, who also drove in four, he led the league for the hops, which is number 63 in the current campaign.

Other Creoles who saw action for Milwaukee were Jackson Chourio, who finished 2-for-6 with one run scored. Andruw Monasterio failed in one turn at bat, while for the fallen Orlando Arcia finished 0-for-3 with one walk.

Milwaukee is 63-49 and leads the NL Central. Atlanta (60-52) is second in the NL East.
