Instagram launched the Notes feature in December 2022 and soon following allowed users to add song lyrics as a way to remember the old MSN. Now Adam Mosseri, head of Meta’s social network, has revealed that it will soon be possible to publish audios in the notes displayed above the Directs.
The head of Instagram revealed the news during a live broadcast carried out by his official profile on the social network. According to him, the function is still under development and has not yet been publicly tested, but the idea is to increase the forms of communication for application users.
Notes currently allows users to write texts with up to 60 characters displayed next to the profile image in the carousel format above the application’s message box, called Directs. Notes are valid for 24 hours and are permanently deleted following this period.
According to Instagram, the resource has become popular among young people, who are looking for new ways to communicate. A report from the social network says that more than 100 million teens have used Notes in the last 90 days, highlighting how a dynamic new form of conversation can attract new audiences to Instagram.
