Every year since 2018, the energy check will be sent to its beneficiaries. For 2023, 5.8 million households considered to be modest will receive it in their mailbox from Friday April 21, reports RTL. However, the shipment can vary from a few days to a few weeks depending on the department, warns The Parisian.
For the beneficiaries, there is no procedure to take. To designate those who are entitled to this aid, the State services rely on declared income. This requires having a reference tax income of less than 11,000 euros in 2021. “If the household meets the required criteria, the sending is fully automatic, in the form of a secure document with a number”, underlines the Ministry of Energy Transition. A simulator on chequeenergie.gouv.fr allows you to check whether you are indeed eligible for aid.
From 48 to 277 euros
The energy check is used to pay gas or electricity bills but also allows the purchase of fuel. It is also allocated to the payment of certain energy works. For a single person, the aid can range from 48 to 194 euros, depending on income. For a couple with a child, the energy check can reach 277 euros, its maximum.
Note that there are two other checks related to the payment of energy expenses. These are the fuel check and the wood check. But for these two boosts, you have to make a request. For the first until April 30, for the second until May 31.
