Boxing’s Olympic future is a concern. Russian Umar Kremlin will remain president despite accusations of financial manipulation. The governing body voted not to hold the presidential election. If boxing is excluded from the Olympics, it will be a setback for India.
When the governing body decided that there was no need for voting and that Russia’s Umar Kremlev might continue as the president of the International Olympic Association, there was a possibility that boxing would be excluded from the Olympics. 106 members voted once morest the presidential election while only 36 voted in favor. Ukraine members might not vote because the IBA had banned them.
The International Olympic Committee has warned once morest the Boxing Association administration. Due to financial irregularities, the Boxing Association was not included in the organization of the Tokyo Olympics. Boxing will be out of the Los Angeles Olympics if transparency is not ensured. Boxing is currently not on the preliminary list of events for the 2028 Olympics. The matter will be discussed in the next meeting of the National Olympic Committee.
