Recently the second part of the second season of “How I Met Your Father” launched on Disney+. Although the spin-off of the cult comedy “How I Met Your Mother” was initially heavily criticized and fans on social media have repeatedly (and repeatedly!) asked the question why one needs this series at all, the fans are delighted The sitcom is now very popular (although not overwhelmingly so) and is getting decent streaming ratings on Hulu / Disney+. “HIMYF” was even nominated for three Emmys this year.
Of course, that makes you wonder: will it be passed on after the season 2 finale? will it be one third season give?
Season 3 of “HIMYF” very likely
So far, there hasn’t been an official statement from Hulu (where “HIMYF” can be seen in the US) as to whether the sitcom will continue – but at least nothing to the contrary has been announced. A cancellation would be more than surprising due to the success, which is why we can safely assume that a third season of “How I Met Your Father” will follow.
If you want to emulate the parent series (in the truest sense of the word), the showrunners Isaac Aptaker and Elizabeth Berger still have a lot to do anyway: after all, “HIMYM” had nine seasons and 208 episodes…
What Happened in the HIMYF Season 2 Finale?
There would definitely be a lot to tell after the end of season 2. So Sophie and Jesse have finally become a couple, so now they face the everyday relationship. Sid and Hannah’s marriage isn’t looking too good after Hannah kissed Eli (whom she clearly seems to have feelings for). And Charlie and Valentina? Things are complicated between the two, too, especially after Valentina’s adventures with Drew. Will the two finally become parents?
Of course, fans also want to know: Following cameos from OG stars Cobie Smulders (Robin) and Neil Patrick Harris (Barney), can we look forward to more appearances from the stars of “HIMYM”? Will we finally get to see Josh Radnor (Ted), Alyson Hannigan (Lily) and/or Jason Segel (Marshall)?
Far too many unanswered questions to let “HIMYF” end at this point… We’ll keep you posted!
