Former Minister Marwan Charbel ruled out any security fear over the parliamentary elections, pointing out that “the political understanding that has taken place alleviates security concerns.”
In an interview with “Voice of All Lebanon”, he stressed that “the elections will take place, as they are a basic demand at home as well as abroad,” explaining that “not holding them will lead the country to a vacuum, as there is no extension of the current council and no government, and therefore no presidential elections.”
Charbel ruled out any change in the new parliament due to the lack of unification of civil society regulations and the so-called “revolution” in electoral districts.
Regarding the return of the Gulf ambassadors to Lebanon, Charbel pointed out that “Lebanon needs Arab countries, particularly the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.”
